Customers often come to us to purchase furniture, but have no idea what style they want or have. Furniture for most of us is a major investment, so we don’t want to make a costly mistake. More than anything else, style is about creating a home that reflects your own distinctive personality, where you feel comfortable living in and enjoy entertaining family and friends. To establish your personal style, start by clipping photos of decorating elements you like from a variety of design magazines. You should include the following categories: 1. Color Schemes: Do you have a favorite color? You probably respond more to certain colors. Look to your closet for inspiration. We tend to buy clothes and wear colors we like most. 2. Room Settings: Look for designs and furniture layouts you find appealing. 3. Products: This would include any kind of product you like. It could be furniture, light fixtures, rugs, artwork, etc. 4. Specific Room: Try to find photos of a specific room you are working on. Clip the ones that really appeal to you. Now, you can review your choices and organize them into a notebook. You will begin to see your style emerge, as you will notice a common point of reference and see the elements to which you are attracted. Bring in your notebook and we will help you make your home, your way.
