Direct Furniture is a homegrown, family business owned now by Kathy Beach and originally founded by her father in 1956. When John Martin decided to retire after 40 years in the furniture business, Kathy bought the store from him in 1995.
The family’s ties to Direct Furniture also rest in the store’s location which sits on the lot where Kathy grew up in Clarksville. She is a life-long resident of Clarksville and remembers, “as a child going to work with my Dad and playing in and around the boxes discarded from furniture shipments.” Her interest in the store increased in the 1980s as she visited various furniture markets with her parents.
She still travels twice a year to both High Point, NC and Atlanta, GA to discover the latest trends in home design, Kathy assists customers in furnishing homes and commercial businesses. She is married to William Beach, owner of Beach Oil Company, and they have three children.
She is an active member of First Presbyterian Church, singing in the adult choir and directing the children’s choir. She also sings with the Nashville Symphony Chorus. In her spare time Kathy enjoys exercising, reading, traveling, and visiting her children. She is a graduate from Austin Peay State University and currently serves on their Foundation.
APPROVALS: Direct Furniture encourages our customers to take accessories home on approval. If after 5 days it is not returned, or if the merchandise is returned damaged, the customers account will be charged. If the merchandise is returned after the 5th day approval period, a store credit will be issued.
STORAGE: Direct Furniture will be happy to store your purchase for up to 30 days with no charge. After 30 days there will be a $30.00 charge per item per month charge.
LAYAWAY: All lay-a-ways require a 1/6 down payment with the balance due over 6 months. Payments need to be made monthly. If payment in full is not received by the end of the 6th month, payments will be NON-REFUNDABLE and the merchandise will be resold.
CUSTOM ORDERS: Custom orders cannot be cancelled or returned.
